About Me

I am the vocalist for the group, Black Olive Jazz. I also teach Drama at Stanford University, and am a professional actress. My web site is www.blackolivejazz.com.

Performing classic songs from the Golden Age of the American Songbook with a vocal jazz repertoire from the enduring masters of the art form-- including Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, the Gershwins, Rodgers and Hart, Harold Arlen, Cole Porter; --and songwriters from Europe and Latin America--Consuelo Velaquez, Cesar Portillo De La Luz, Ary Borroso, A.C. Jobim, Bruno Martino, and many more. Vocalist Kay Andreas brings these two traditions together with an all star ensemble of San Francisco legends. Available to perform in duo, trio, ensemble or big band. I perform at many venues, educational institutions and benefits in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sonoma, including The Union Street Festival, Sausalito Art Festival, Art Deco celebration at Union Square San Francisco, Herbst Theater Green Room, The Cliff House, Agenda Lounge, Santana Row, Octavia Lounge, Turtle Bay Restaurant, Cafe Fino, Bartholomew Park Winery, Ledson Winery, Domaine Carneros Winery, Gunlach Bunschu Winery, River Rock Casino, Joe's of Lafayette, Stanford University, City College of San Francisco, UC Santa Clara, and Santa Clara University among others.

I perform with many San Francisco Bay Area treasures: pianists, Si Perkoff, www.siperkoff.com , Max Perkoff, www.maxperkoff.com, Larry Vuckovich www.larryvuckovich.com, Alan Steger, Gerry Grosz, Larry Chinn, Benny Watson; Guitar players: Josh Workman, Rick Schrader, Jeff Massanari, Lenny Carlson and Duncan James. I also work with several world class bassists: my Stanford colleague, Perry Thoorsell; Bill Douglass, www.sierrajazzsociety.com , and Barry Green, www.innergameofmusic.com; and drummers: Eddie Marshall, Ian Dogole, Bill Belasco, Bob Blankenship, Vince Delgado, Joe Hodge. I have also performed as lead vocalist for David Hardiman's Big Band and City Swing Big Band, and as guest vocalist with Mimi Dye's Topaz ensemble. My CD, Black Magic, has received airplay on the jazz station, KCSM, and sells on CD Baby.
