Learned classical piano and violin as a child; studied at Wisconsin
Conservatory of Music, Milwaukee 1979; leader of the Monash Jazz
Quintet 1980-82; Monash Univ. Big Band (1983); solo piano gig 1980-85,
Simon Pilbrow Quartet 1983-84; Julian Driscoll Quartet 1985-87,
performed with Allan Browne, Gary Costello, Geoff Kluke, Ben
Robertson; Nick Haywood; Edward York; guitarist George Golla in June
1988; house pianist Royal Derby Jazz Jam (1990); Graham Finch
Quartet (1999-2002); Peninsula Jazz Trio (2002->2009), residency at
Hickinbotham’s winery 2000-2006, featuring guests in young talents
including saxophonists Savannah Blount and Pete Mitchell and many
others, and established Australian jazz legends like George Golla, Alan
Lee and Don Burrows; also residency at Arthur’s Seat (2004-2006);
Dizzy’s Jazz Club Big Band 2004.
Many jazz compositions incl. 'Ballad for Thad; Tribute (to Bill Evans);
a selection of early compositions (pre-1988) are now permanently held

Also active in church music since 1974 - Christ Church Dingley (1974-
84); Christ Church, Mequon, WI, USA (1979); St Matthew's Prahran
(1985-93) Red Hill Church of Christ (1993-96); St James the Less in Mt
Eliza (1997-2008), and directed the St Jimmy's youth music ensemble
(2006-2008); on music team at New Peninsula Baptist Church (2009-).
