Singer, actress, dancer, teacher, painting model - a range of experiences that endlessly nourish her, and that she continues to enrich, surprising us each and every time!

On hearing a gospel choir in the Eglise St Germain des pres in Paris, Cathaly falls instantly in love. Without a second's hesitation, she joins the N'temo Gospel Choir under the direction of Marcel Boungou (Gospel pour 100 voix), with whom she tours France for more than two years as a chorister and lead singer. She furthers this vocal work, forming a voice percussion trio, with whom she develops a more original gospel form.

Soon after, during her year at jazz school, she discovers the singer Abbey Lincoln. Touched in the deepest parts of her soul, Cathaly decides to pay homage to this great lady of jazz! Abbey's Street is born! A folk-blues-rock mix that will leave neither the festivals nor the press indifferent.

After two years of touring, Cathaly sets herself a new challenge: create French compositions with a jazz-bossa tint. This challenge is met hands down with Selimonte, album due out in 2010. Smiling, feminine, a ball of floatiness, a great gulp of fresh air, songs to be consumed without moderation.

MUSIC STORY Folk, soul, jazz, chanson francaise, from Bobby McFerrin to Bruce Springsteen, via Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, Nougaro, Cathaly doesn't listen to any particular musical style. All that counts is emotion - pure and simple - and it's on exactly this foundation that she builds her own music.
