Multi-instrumentalist and composer Roxy Coss is breaking boundaries on today's music scene.
New York City based musician Roxy Coss is making a name for herself
as a versatile, original voice within the vibrant and thriving jazz scene
today. Coss is head and shoulders above many of the gifted, well-
schooled young people who are trying to get a toehold in the intensely
competitive NYC jazz and improvised music scenes. Her multiple talents
are worthy of wider recognition, right now. - All About Jazz.
Originally from Seattle, WA, Roxy graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2008
from William Paterson University's Jazz Studies Program with a
Bachelor of Music degree. She has gone on from there to perform with
the likes of Clark Terry, Claudio Roditi, the DIVA Jazz Orchestra, and
the SMOKE Big Band. Her own group has played at such venues as
Cecil's Jazz Club, Shrine, the Local 269, and her weekly Monday gig at
181 Cabrini. Roxy will be a featured guest in this year's Earshot Jazz
Festival, and will be releasing her self-titled debut album in October
2010.
