I have been writing about Jazz since I was 24 years old, working for Portuguese newspapers and specialized jazz magazines. I have had the chance to know and interview some of the main jazzmen, from McCoy Tyner to Archie Shepp and Ben Allison. Also, I used to play double bass and had classes with Rufus Reid and Reggie Workman as well as people like Clark Terry, Red Mitchell, John Abercrombie or Dave Liebman. This music is pretty much in my blood. I have written so far two books about Jazz in Portugal, I organize tours about Jazz in Lisbon in the 20's and 40's and I am also an old 78 rpm records collector. In 2003 I created my own jazz blog which now is the main and most visited blog about jazz in Portugal (Europe).
