My Jazz Story

I love jazz because music is my second life. I was first exposed to jazz at a 1962 Al Hirt concert--I had no idea musicians could have that much fun making music! The best show I ever attended was Carlos Santana at the Budokan, Tokyo in 1978. It started on time, had four encores, and there was maybe three minutes of talking/intros the whole evening; Four hours of musical heaven! The first jazz record I bought was The Swingle Singers, "Going Baroque". My advice to new listeners don't choose music based on what others think is "cool" --listen to it all and support the artists you can locally, or thru record companies if you have to.
