Mercifully spared from writing poems no one will see or books no one will remember.

Daniel Spicer is a writer based in Brighton, UK.

He is a regular contributor to The Wire and Jazzwise magazines and has published work in The Guardian, The Independent, BBC Music Online, Signal To Noise, Plan B, Rock-A-Rolla and elsewhere.

He was nominated for 'Jazz Journalist of the Year' in the 2010 Parliamentary Jazz Awards.

He presents a weekly radio show, 'The Mystery Lesson', on Brighton's Radio Reverb FM, playing new releases in avant-garde improvised music.

He has contributed to BBC Radio 3's 'Jazz On Three' show as a guest expert.

He also performs in the chaotic Brighton-based electro-acoustic improvising sextet, Bolide.
