Tomas hails from Brooklyn, New York and currently resides in Teaneck, New Jersey. He is a journalist, chronicler, and an educator whose “mission” is to broaden the public's understanding of music as a universal language.
Tomas has dedicated the past twenty years of his life to expanding his knowledge of jazz and World Music through independent study and field work. He is also the Co-Editor for Latin Jazz Network and a contributing writer for various web based publications, including www.jazz.com, www.latinjazzalive.org and www.vinilemania.com.
Tomas is also the former host of Under the Radar, segment he created to compliment Vicki Sola's long running radio show, Que Viva La Musica (89.1FM).
Tomas is a graduate of Empire State College and holds a degree in Journalism with a concentration in Latin American studies, and is a former member of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center's Advisory Board.
More recently, Tomas and his partner, Danilo Navas formed MusiMedia, L.L.C. a publication relations and media entity that caters to the needs of independent artists (see www.musimedia1.com).
