Gregory Applegate Edwards
Grego Applegate Edwards is a freelance music writer and multi-instrumentalist/composer with a special interest in jazz and improvisation.
About Me
Grego Applegate Edwards is a music journalist and musician-composer
working out of the New York Metropolitan Area. He has been a
contributor to Cadence for the past seven years. He also
writes
several music review blogs, including the Gapplegate Music
Review (http://gapplegatemusicreview.blogspot.com) and the
Gapplegate Guitar and Bass Blog
(http://gapplegateguitar.blogspot.com ). Prior to this time he was for ten
years the Contributing/Managing Editor of MDG, a monthly
series of city guides published for Delta Air Lines, British Airways and
US Air covering music, the arts, and culture for many different
international cities. He is a multi-instrumentalist/composer who began
playing piano at age four, drums at age five, guitar at age eight, bass
guitar and percussion later on. He attended Berklee College of Music
and the Contemporary School of Music. He studied electronic music at
the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center, and ethnomusicology
at New York University and the University of Chicago, where he received
a BA and an MA, respectively. In addition to writing Grego is involved in
two ongoing projects devoted to his music, the PM Garage Orchestra
and Time Travels.
