About Me

Writer/photographer Josephine Ochej has been covering the Vancouver music scene for more than 14 years. Ochej co-owned two alternative weeklies (AF Magazine, Terminal City) for eight years before coming to the inevitable (and blessed) conclusion that jazz is what matters and embarked on a freelance career. She has contributed writing and photographs to Seattle Weekly, Coda Magazine, Planet Jazz, vancouverjazz.com, All About Jazz and Vancouver's urban weekly, the Westender. Ochej is President of the Board of Directors of Vancouver's 25-year-old bastion of improvisation, the NOW Orchestra.
