Aaron is an aspiring, but not starving, jazz journalist

Ever since the jazz bug bit my ears in 2000, America's original art form has become my obsession. I love Miles Davis's music between 1952 and 1975 and I'm a big fan of Blue Note records from the late '50s and '60s. My other favorite artists include Chick Corea, Horace Silver, Wynton Kelly, Herbie Hancock, Tony Williams, Wayne Shorter, Bennie Maupin, Bill Evans, Miroslav Vitous, and many more.

I wrote for the University of Wisconsin-Plattville student newspaper, The Exponent, covering jazz and other musical events. I was fortunate to meet and interview bassist Avishai Cohen and drummer Matt Wilson while at the Exponent.

Jazz is such a wonderful and intriguing art form. With the right kind of ears, a person can actually begin to “see” the music with all of it's textures, shapes, and colors. Jazz is a serene world in which the listener can escape to.
