My Jazz Story

I love jazz because it makes me think & experiment & work & let go - all at the same time. I was first exposed to jazz during song styling classes with a young, talented jazz pianist here in NYC, then hanging out at Harlem's historic Lenox Lounge. The best show I ever attended was Ernestine Anderson at Dizzy's, Barry Harris at the Village Vanguard, Abbey Lincoln or Ahmad Jamal at the Blue Note, Annie Ross with Tardo Hammer at the Metropolitan Room or Tardo's trio at Small's, Jimmy Scott at the Iridium - I can't pick any over the others!
