David McLorren
Multi Instrumentalist who enjoy doing all things creative
About Me
Producer, keyboardist, drummer, percussionist, singer and songwriter I pride myself
on giving you something a little different in my music.…
Simply put, like everyone with a dream, I go after it. Music has been a source of many
things to me, so I've pursued music relentlessly. I have developed a style all my own
and I'm ready to share it with the world. Through the years I have worked with
different bands, choirs and youth groups in the capacities of soloist, musician, and
choir director. In the early 90's I played keyboards and drums alternately as well as
lead vocals with a band in VA. In the mid to late 90's I moved to Seattle where I
played keyboard and drums with churches and youth groups. The style of that period
was more geared toward alternative rock or grunge diversifying my musical style.
Then in the late 90's to the turn of the century I moved more towards a contemporary
and at times traditional gospel mostly focused more on drumming and lead vocals for
various churches in New York. Opportunities to direct choirs ensued along the way
over the years lending to sharpening my musical and vocal arrangements. After many
years of practice, writing, & playing I have successfully released my own music. My
3rd solo release has hit the stores on September 3rd 2013. I've perform at various
venues and stages including Jazz festivals in St.Lucia…
I Established Reethym Production formally in 2007 to promote not only myself but
other artist. In addition I am currently collaborating on a few projects soon to be
release for various artists. So keep an eye out for me. You never know where I may
pop up.
My New album Everything changes has been released on Sept 3. 2013. This project
is some of my best work. This project is a coming of age , a maturity that comes with
growing as a person and artist. I took extra time to perfect this one to make sure it
was what I wanted in production, content, musically & sound-wise. Aptly name
everything changes, an evolution of thinking and a seasonal change to the next level.
You'll get a taste of what makes me tick in these songs….
To compliment my music, I'm also a Photographer and Graphic Designer which enable
me to be creative in every aspect of my production from start to finish. Oh yeah and
since you here please join our mailing list and connect with me on the social media
site to keep up with what's to come. Much love. -d
My Jazz Story
I love jazz because... The Very first time I hear Dave Brubeck's "Take Five" Must have been 4-5 years old it stopped me in my tracks and inspired me to be different, It was the uniqueness of his style, almost a freeing spirit in how he chose to compose... Which I understand why it captivated me now that I am grown.. I was first exposed to jazz... My Grand Parents house in the summer as a child I met [ Ziggy Marley]... The Band I played with in the 90's was the opening act. The best show I ever attended was... Sade Soldier of love tour...timeless and so well done.. The first jazz record I bought was... Dave Brubeck Take Five My advice to new listeners... Listen with unbiased ear when listening to music and you will discover something new, something different every-time... Whatever else you have in mind....Hmmm... I have brand my music as something a little different.. I have developed a style all my own and I would love to share it with you.. It's all to say to the listener you can be whom you are with out the chains of popular opinion if you are true to yourself and kind to others when it is required..
