About Me
My Jazz Story
I was first exposed to jazz as a young kid by hearing Oscar Peterson LPs at my uncle's apartment in Manhattan. I'd started piano lessons at age 6 but the joy in Oscar's sound really grabbed me. I stayed with the piano but also got into the guitar and drums as I came through high school, and have been in the music non-stop. Currently plugged into the Los Angeles scene and proud to serve on the USC Thornton School of Music's Jazz Studies faculty, now going into my 25th year there.
