About Me

Daniel Z is a native New Yorker who has performed in the U.S. and Europe for more than 30 years. After relocating to South Carolina, he began performing in venues across the Upstate.

At any time Daniel Z may consist of drums, piano and voice; drums, bass and piano; drums, bass and guitar, or flute or trumpet, and so on. The beauty of jazz music is its fluidity and improvisation, and Daniel enjoys “mixing it up” with many different musicians.

Daniel Z is not just a jazz drummer, however. He also plays vibraphone and conducts music education programs for children and adults, and music therapy programs for the elderly.

Whether it’s swinging jazz, bossa nova, or modern jazz, Daniel Z entertains and delights audiences show after show.
