About Me

I have been a AAJ contributor since long ago, but my password got lost forever, though I answer the question for recovering it, the result is the same: you can't log in. So this is my second time around, just as a reader as far as I know. But if you enter my name you'll fine some of my reviews (few indeed). And if you read French, go to www.citizenjazz.com and dig my conversation with Veronique Pernin on Chris Speed. Anyway, I'm a jazz fan since the early 80's and I love the post-bop thing and certain avanguard outings. I have some European jazz CDs which happen to be a sort of treasure to me, and if you want to talk about do not hesitate to contact me. Peace.

My Jazz Story

I love jazz because it is the sound of surprise. I was first exposed to jazz when I listened to "The Latin Percussion Jazz Ensemble live at Montreux (1980)" I met George Garzone while he drank a drink at the end of his first set at the Jamboree (Barcelona). The best show I ever attended was Brad Mehldau & Joshua Redman duo at the Barcelona Jazz Festival. The first jazz record I bought was Herbie Hancock's "Quartet" with a young and dazzling Wynton (1982) My advice to new listeners follow your taste but keep an eye on what good reviewers say.
