My Jazz Story

I love jazz because...there is a certain intangible something that draws me to the music like a moth is drawn to light. I was first exposed to jazz...as a child in school. My high school's music program had a jazz band and I became enchanted by the genre. I met Charlie Harrington...it was an absolute thrill. The best show I ever attended was...Peter Erskine and the Lounge Art Ensemble. The first jazz record I bought was...Atomic Basie. My advice to new listeners...you may have to listen to something multiple times before it is fully absorbed and appreciated. It's a marathon and not a sprint.
