My Jazz Story

Jazz came to me after long and hard Rock n' Roll upbring. Dingy club shows, relentless rehearsal, only to not allowed in most bars, all by the age of 15. I was advancing quickly as a musician, and start looking for music that was pushing the envelope. First, I discovered heavy metal music. The music was technically demanding, energetic, well composed with meter changes, big phat grooves, and audience like no other. By the end of High School, College became the hot topic of everyone. I realized I had no skills, other than playing Guitar and Bass. My Brother, now Brooklyn based Jazz Guitarist and Educator, began excelling in our High School's Jazz Band. Which, was one of the top Jazz Schools in the country. I decided that I should try Upright bass. Sure enough, they needed one, and began finding myself excelling quickly in this new scene I knew nothing about. Later I received a Scholarship to Berklee College of Music, and the rest is History
