About Me
My Jazz Story
The first jazz I listened to was a duet track of Joe Pass playing with Herb Ellis, while a senior in high school in '05. Being a fledgling guitarist, and with my favorite musician being Hendrix at the time, I was blown away by the sheer musicianship and ability. Though I may have downloaded other music, my first album was Pass' "Virtuoso." How could one musician cleanly pull off the parts and fullness of another group performing the same song? Years later and I'm still trudging along with guitar and now bass guitar too. I've taken lessons on and off, played awhile in church, and jammed with friends, but done little in the way of jazz. I just started transcribing solos, beginning with those I can tackle off "Kind of Blue." Though I don't expect music to become a way of life for me, it's a love of mine that isn't going anywhere.
