Johnnie Valentino

About Me

Born in 1957 in Philadelphia neighborhood filled with a history of jazz guitarists that starts with Eddie Lang continuing through to today's Pat Martino. Johnnie studied privately as a young man with DennisSandole, Joe Sgro and Pat Martino. Studied composition at Rutgers University while playing club dates and recording sessions at Alpha studio's for Philly World Records. In 1984 he relocated to Los Angeleswhere he has been musically active in many facets such as writing, recording, scoring, performing and sound designing for TV, films and toys.He has recorded with some of today's leading improvisers including , Alex Acuna, Bennie Maupin,Vinny Golia,Wadada Leo Smith, Billy Drewes, Oscar Brashear, Andy Lester, Kermit Driscoll, Michael Pedicin,Mike Sarin, Mick Rossi, Mark Ferber and Pat Martino. Won the 2001 International Monitor Awards in LA for Best Sound Designer.
