Why I Must Be Careful

Why I Must Be Careful is music for the post-first-world

About Me

Drawing as much from punk as from jazz, with the academic weight and tongue-in-cheek of John Cage, Why I Must Be Careful is treading on new ground; this newly formed volcanic ground is teeming with heat and vigor from a dirt-caked Rhodes piano and ecstatic drums & cymbals. Synchronized passages appear from the æther in a frighteningly complex sonic mêlée in their musics. The drums speak in a melodic code as the electronic piano gouges percussively from note to note in bizarrely complementary walls of hyper-structured madness. Orbiting somewhere around Sun Ra & Ruins, or Zs & Lightning Bolt, the bold and “lucky” music of Why I Must Be Careful will challenge your ideas of a two- piece band. “Expect to be jarred in a decidedly unrock, but totally enrapturing and palate-cleansing way.”
