About Me

Born in Belem Brazil, she started playing guitar at 14. She gave guitar lessons at her house she had many students, including Jane Duboc before she became well known, and also hosted a day-time TV program, Tupi-Channel 2, to the viewing TV audience. She also was the precursor to the Bossa Nova in Fortaleza. She was well known in town for music, including serving as jurer in local music festivals. Her house was always frequented by musicians, including Fagner, Belchior, Ednardo and others (before they became famous). Lucinha was also introduced several times on TV Marajoara-Belem. She had her first licensed professional job with the Othon Palace Hotel.The weekends were usually packed. After one year, she received a contract offer to work in the Rio de Janeiro Othon Hotel. Besides the hotels she also performed in several other clubs like the Rio Chico's Bar, Antoninos and others.After many years in Rio, Lucinha moved to San Diego, California. She recorded her first CD in 2002, and first DVD in 2010. The latter DVD was recorded live with Lucia Arruda and guests at the Cultural Center OBOE, along with a later show at the Fortaleza Yacht Club. She has more than 30 years of professional performing experience.
