Stephen Becker is a guitar player based out of Los Angeles who is currently studying at the Oberlin Conservatory under Bobby Ferrazza

Stephen Becker first started playing guitar in the 6th grade after brief attempts at learning the violin and piano. His love for all types of music prompted Stephen to join his middle school jazz band where he initially became exposed to improvisational music. Stephen quickly enrolled in the Santa Monica Academy of Music where he took lessons with Buzz Gravelle, a UCLA graduate who taught Stephen jazz guitar and introduced him to every style of music from classical to flamenco. Stephen continued to lead his high school jazz band in addition to various rock/pop groups that have successfully recorded music and performed throughout the Sunset Strip in Hollywood.

Stephen has now been studying the guitar for eight years, and his passion for a variety of music has brought him to the Oberlin Conservatory where he is a Sophomore Jazz Performance Major. His teachers include Bob Ferrazza (guitar), Billy Hart (drums), Dan Wall (piano), and Gary Bartz (sax).
