Exquisite World Class Vocals: “Just like the old Masters”, (Rick Kilburn, Juno award-winning Producer). Anna (Acevedo) Lyman's music is a mix of Latin Originals, Bossa Nova (Brazilian, French and more), World music and Motown. It features Rhythmic Latin scatting. As she is also a Spanish speaker, and in her Originals, incorporates both English and Spanish within the same composition. Anna's music first aired on CBC's “Hot Air” in 2002 when she released her debut CD ”It's Lush”. “Sway”, and “It's Lush” were Produced by Juno award winning Producer Rick Kilburn in Burnaby, and the renowned Master Jazz Drummer, Keith Copeland, who said, “She is one of the best singers I have ever recorded with in my entire 40+ career! She has what musicians refer to as “the real magic”! She is as close to a perfect singer and song stylist as anyone I have ever heard...” (Keith Copeland, www.keithcopeland.com).

APPEARANCES: EXPO, the World's Fair!, The Pender Harbour Jazz Festival, The Victoria International Jazzfest, various other Resorts, Clubs and Festivals!

Anna won an award at the Vancouver Ukulele Festival with her Jazzalele Duo in 2012 with her arrangement of “Blue Monk” and its performance.

Anna also has a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Vocal Performance and a Minor in Jazz Guitar

My Jazz Story

I became enamored with Bossa Nova and Jazz growing up as a young child in a Latin American home. This was followed by a 4-year degree Majoring in Jazz Vocals and Minor in Jazz Guitar. My favorite jazz moment? Leading a singsong at a family wedding beside the Amazon River, in Brazilian Portuguese, in the state of Para', Brasil!
