DOYLESTOWN, PA -- The James A. Michener Art Museum presents an all-inclusive night of jazz featuring The Landham Brothers on February 20. These Philadelphia natives have played alongside renowned jazz musicians including Shirley Scott, Joey DeFrancesco, Russell Malone, Orrin Evans and John Swana.

“The Michener has been presenting Jazz Night for the past 13 years. The jazz tradition of the Philadelphia region is very rich and there are so many talented musicians to present," says Zoriana Siokalo, Director of Programs at the Museum.

Robert Landham, alto saxophone and his brother, Byron, drums, are well-established in the Philadelphia jazz scene. Robert studied at the Settlement Music School in Philadelphia and learned from John Coltrane's mentor, Dennis Sandole. Byron began playing the drums at age seven and was mentored by Shirley Scott. His work is influenced by jazz artists including Mickey Roker, Bobby Durham and Butch Ballard. In 1998, the brothers recorded The Landham Brothers: At Last, which was released on the Straight Street label.

Jazz Night with The Landham Brothers begins at 8:00 p.m. with hearty appetizers and desserts presented by Havana Catering and refreshments presented by River Horse Brewing Company and Sand Castle Winery. The concert takes place from 8:30 to 11:00 p.m. with one intermission. Museum galleries are open until 10:00 p.m.

Advance tickets are required for Jazz Night. General admission seating may be purchased online at www.MichenerArtMuseum.org or by phone at (215) 340-9800.
