Nashville, TN--Smooth Jazz Singer/Songwrirter Terri Brinegar, has just released her newest CD, Having the Time of My Life. This CD is full of her trademark rich jazz harmonies combined with sing-able melodies and inspiring words.
About Terri Brinegar
Terri moved to Nashville in 2006 to pursue songwriting as a career, and in the process of writing country songs to learn the technical aspect of the craft, and working in a Jazz nightclub, her writing completely took on a new direction. Suddenly a whole new world had opened up Jazz.
She started experimenting with her writing with sounds and chords that were new and fresh. Shed always listened to Blues and Classic R&B; artists like Aretha Franklin and Etta James had been her favorites for years. Shes been writing songs for many years and even has three previous CDs, two of which are all-original material of Blues and R&B. Shed also performed in the Los Angeles Blues circuit and at the Monterey Bay Blues Festival, among others.
Since living in Nashville, her style has changed. Terri likes to use rich Jazz harmonies combined with sing-able melodies. As a songwriter, her melodies are never predictable, her words are inspiring, and the music is soulful and rich in texture. Terri likes to write with a definite groove in her songs, but feels that the melody is the most important part of the song. From a singers perspective, Terri believes if a person cant sing the melody in the shower, then its gotta go!
An accomplished musician who grew up playing a variety of instruments, Terri graduated with a degree in Classical voice and even attended The Juilliard School of Music in New York City. She has a three octave range and likes to incorporate a wide vocal range in some of her songs.
