THE FIRST 350 TICKET HOLDERS FOR OUR OCTOBER 31ST PERFORMANCE, WILL RECEIVE A BEAUTIFUL, 2010 LINES BALLET CALENDAR.

Alonzo King LINES Ballet
Fall Season 2009
October 23-25, October 28 - November 1
Jason Moran & the MOROCCAN Project

The program features a world premiere with original music by visionary jazz pianist Jason Moran. Moran has performed alongside some of today's jazz greats including Ravi Coltrane and Cassandra Wilson and has been commissioned for numerous projects including Jazz at Lincoln Center. Having had what he calls a “breakthrough experience" while watching the Company, Moran pairs his technical virtuosity with a cutting-edge approach to jazz in creation of his first ballet score. The Jason Moran Trio, featuring Tarus Mateen and Nasheet Waits, will be performing opening weekend.

Don't miss his live performances October 23-25 only!

This season also features the return of the MOROCCAN Project. The vibrant drumming of Gnawa ceremonies sets a backdrop for the haunting strains of oud and violin performed live at all performances by El Hamideen. Amid shifting rhythms and echoing voices, the extraordinary dancers of Alonzo King LINES Ballet move with unexpected intimacy and flawless grace.
