Jazz composer, bassist and co-founder of the Brooklyn Jazz Underground, Alexis Cuadrado announces the world premiere of his epic new composition, “Noneto Ibrico", to take place at The Jazz Gallery in New York City on Friday and Saturday, October 2nd and 3rd. “Noneto Ibrico" is the result of a commission from Chamber Music America through its “New Works for Jazz Ensembles" grant program.

“Noneto Ibrico", a nine-movement piece performed by nine musicians, blends the traditional song forms of Spanish Flamenco music with the contemporary improvised music idiom, creating a unique and groundbreaking genre that goes a step beyond previous blends of Flamenco and jazz.

Besides Mr. Cuadrado on double bass, the ensemble includes some of the most outstanding jazz musicians on the NYC scene: Avishai Cohen on trumpet, Loren Stillman on saxophones, Alan Ferber on trombone, Brad Shepik on guitar, Dan Tepfer on piano and Mark Ferber on drums, with the special collaboration of two of the most exceptional musicians in Spain that have broken molds, and are renowned internationally in blending jazz with Flamenco, Perico Sambeat on saxophone and Marc Miralta on percussion.

After the performances at The Jazz Gallery, this ensemble will be heading into the studio to record the music for future release.
