Philadelphia-based Jeff Duperon is the producer and host of the new taintradio program, Congo Square, which debuts at midnight Friday, August 7th (Thursday night) on taintradio. Jeff began his broadcasting career over two decades ago in New Orleans. He infuses Congo Square with a true passion for New Orleans music, including jazz, R&B, zydeco, gospel, classical, and funk. Congo Square will provide taintradio listeners with many artists who deserve wider recognition and up-and-coming new artists on the scene today. Tune in and experience a hot and spicy gumbo of musical joy.

Congo Square in New Orleans was the only place in America where African slaves were allowed to market goods, socialize, and participate in drumming, music-making and dance, establishing the rooms of American music. Although the historic use of the site predates jazz, it is significant because of the role the square played in New Orleans’ musical heritage and as a symbol of the early African-American contributions to the origins of jazz and other musical forms.

In addition to the midnight-3am (Eastern) time slot, Congo Square will also run on Sundays from 3-6am and Mondays from 9am to noon.
