Mr. Haynes has won two Grammy awards and was nominated for a Grammy for each of his last three albums. The Roy Haynes Fountain of Youth Band features Jaleel Shaw (saxophone), Martin Bejerano (piano) and David Wong (bass). Also appearing are: poet, activist, playwright Amiri Baraka; vocalist Vanessa Rubin and Her Trio.

Brooklyn Tech Auditorium's entrance is in middle of the block on South Elliot Place between DeKalb and Lafayette Avenues, three blocks from transportation hub Atlantic Terminal (Atlantic Avenue - MTA and Flatbush Ave - LIRR). This newly renovated concert hall atmosphere community venue features a state of the art lightening, theatrical site lines; Meyer 48 channel digital sound system and plush seating.

The 10th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival is sponsored by Con Edison, Brooklyn Tourism and Visitors Center (an initiative of Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz) and the forty-seven (47) organizations/individuals members of Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium.
