SIRIUS, known for delivering the very best in commercial-free music and premium sports entertainment to cars and homes across the country, announced today that jazz broadcasters Les Davis and Paul Anthony have joined the SIRIUS on-air staff on jazz music stream Pure Jazz (stream 72).

The announcement of Davis and Anthony was made today to attendees of the International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE) Convention visiting SIRIUS' New York City headquarters and studios.

Popular veteran Les Davis, a leading jazz authority whose name was synonymous with jazz in New York City for decades, is the former host of the legendary “Make Believe Ballroom" program on WNEW-AM / New York. The native New Yorker is also known from his WNEW live broadcasts from the legendary Greenwich Village jazz music venues The Blue Note, Village Vanguard and The Village Gate, and his work for former New York jazz radio stations WRVR-FM and WYNY-FM. Davis has recently been heard on JOTU-FM/Y84/FM Yokohama, Japan.

Paul Anthony is a jazz music specialist whose award-winning, syndicated “Jazz Unlimited" program, a staple on Washington, DC airwaves, has been on radio for more than 40 years. He helped develop and hosted National Public Radio's “Jazz Alive" program, and programmed and hosted an all-jazz music format for WRC-FM and WGMS-FM in Washington, DC. Metropolitan New York radio listeners also know Anthony as the current voice of 1010 WINS News Radio. Anthony's extensive television announcing includes the programs “Washington Week in Review" and “America's Most Wanted," in addition to many PBS-TV and Discovery Channel programs.

Pure Jazz // 72 is SIRIUS' classic jazz music stream, one of six jazz music streams in its programming lineup. SIRIUS Vice President of Music Programming, Steve Blatter said, “We are very proud to welcome to SIRIUS such accomplished broadcasters as Paul Anthony and Les Davis, the 'dean of jazz radio.' Millions of people grew up listening to these veterans, and now they'll be bringing America's native art form to a new generation of fans."
