Leni Stern Joins Morley, Adam Rudolph's Organic Orchestra and Salif Keita for Upcoming 'Special Guest' Appearances Stern to Appear in Documentary on Hermeto Pascal Recent Television Appearance Features Two Live Performances New Leni Stern CD in the Works; Headlining Shows Set for NYC Acclaimed singer/songwriter/guitarist Leni Stern will make a series of 'Special Guest' appearances in the weeks and months ahead. On October 23rd, she will join her friend Morley at Joe's Pub in New York City, for the CD release concert for Morley's new CD, 'Seen'. Stern will join Morley again for a concert in Troy, NY on 10/25.

Stern has also been invited to perform with Adam Rudolph's Organic Orchestra, on October 20th and 27th, and November 10th and 17th, at Roulette in SoHo.

On October 28th, Stern's regular gig at 55 Bar in NYC will become the backdrop for an in- the-works Documentary on Hermeto Pascal.

Stern will headline at NYC hotspot Nublu on November 11th and December 16th.

Lastly, Stern has been invited by the legendary Salif Keita to return to Mali and perform with him at the Holiday Concerts at Moffou.

Leni Stern was recently interviewed and performed two songs on GritTV with Laura Flanders. See the lengthy segment here: http://lauraflanders.firedoglake.com/2008/09/26/singersongwriter-leni-stern/

Stern is currently recording new tracks for an as-yet-untitled CD, due out in 2009. More details will be announced soon.

Her recent 'Africa' CD has attracted the attention of a growing international audience. Over the summer, she opened for the legendary Salif Keita in New York City, was invited to perform at the United Nations days later, and subsequently celebrated the European release of her career-defining album, which was recorded over a two-year span at Keita's Bamako Studios in Mali.

Stern's stature as a 'Global Music Artist' has grown in the wake of 'Africa', and her live performances have reflected the dynamic shift, both in terms of instrumentation and personnel.

Since its U.S. release, critics have embraced 'Africa' as “a significant new chapter in a career marked by bold changes," and Stern was interviewed in the recent Annual Women’s Issue of Jazziz Magazine. 'Africa' has been praised as “one of the best CDs of the past year, in any genre."
