FORGES EXIT STRATEGIES





Praised by the likes of John Hiatt, Paul McCartney and Elvis Costello, Ron Sexsmith has completed Exit Strategy of the Soul, which is set for a July 8 release via Yep Roc Records. The album features14 new songs, all of them written or co-written by Sexsmith, and was produced by Martin Terefe (Jason Mraz, KT Tunstall) was recorded in varied locations including studios in London, England and Havana, Cuba. Its ambitious arrangements, backed by punctuating and swelling horns and strings, complete an album that is one of Sexsmith's most wide-ranging thus far. The new release will include Sexsmith's recording of “Brandy Alexander," a song he co-wrote with fellow Canadian Feist, whose slightly different version appears on her 2007 hit album 'The Reminder. Sexsmith penned new lyrics for the version that appears on his album.



Sexsmith just recently finished a series of opening dates for Nick Lowe's US tour in April.
