The Temecula Valley International Jazz Festival's 5th annual event to be held between July 10 and 12, 2008, in Old Town Temecula is getting Greener. This year the Temecula Jazz Festival is taking steps to be “green" thanks to solar powered sound and stage lighting provided by Sustainable Waves. The stage alone will allow us to avoid approximately 1000 pounds of CO2 in one day. The stage itself is a 24-volt system capable of putting out close to 3000 watts of sound. You have to hear it to believe it!

Sustainable Waves specializes in sustainable energy solutions for the entertainment industry. We provide solar powered stages, sound systems, lighting and a variety of conscious products and consulting services. From solar stages to algae trailers, Sustainable Waves has a unique approach to creating value. “We integrate with existing business models and strive to inspire the currents of the global economy," said Sustainable Waves spokesman Mark McLarry.

Most people are unaware that the generation of electricity is the largest source of industrial air pollution. Every year millions of tons of CO2 are emitted into the atmosphere, contributing to global warming and poor air quality. As a company, Sustainable Waves has invested in the future by utilizing the renewable energy sources of the sun to deliver 100% pollution free concerts. “Our solar powered stages, sound, and lighting systems are fully functioning examples of a complete design," said McLarry. “Our solar stages give performers an opportunity to educate the community about the benefits of renewable energy while delivering a concert with state of the art sound quality."

Recently voted one of the most popular local events by a city run survey, the Temecula Valley International Jazz Festival (you can't say it too many times) is unique in its broad appeal. Presented by the City of Temecula, and Paul & Diane Garrett of the Garrett Group, and Better World Together, this event attracts not only local, and regional jazz lovers, but also brings national and international attention, thanks in part to sponsorships by Down Beat magazine, Jazz 88 FM, KJAZZ 88.1, L.A. Jazz Scene and All About Jazz, by showcasing living legends of one of the only true American Art forms - Jazz Music!

Produced by Jon and Jane Laskin of Musicians Workshop this event is more of a cultural enrichment event than a fundraiser, however any proceeds benefit children's performing arts & music scholarships and the Temecula Valley Cultural Arts & Music Center.
