"TrombonesOnline.com" as we are now, is the result in the merger between “The Trombone Page Of The World" (Rene Laanen) and “TrombonesOnline.com" (Steve Eichen) in June, 2005

Both Rene and I had been in contact over that last few years and a mutual respect for each other was clear. Through several discussions we both felt that with a combined effort, something quite special would result for the trombone community on a worldwide basis. The decision to merge both of our visions into one, was decided in June 2005.

This would be a gigantic leap forward and would require extensive technical advice and implementation to create our mutual vision... the worlds' largest trombone portal. Early into the merger, Jannie van Tonder, a long time fellow trombonist and friend of Ren was brought in as partner and technical advisor. Shortly thereafter, Groove Bone Internet Radio, hosted by Dave Dickey, announced an agreement in principal to power the audio streaming for the new site. - The rest is history!

We laid out a plan in early July 2005 and have been at it ever since. We are all involved in the evolution of this great project and like any successful company, each of us has particular skills and strengths. We communicate through Skype on a daily basis since Ren is in the Netherlands, Jannie is in Cape Town South Africa, Dave in Champaign, IL and I am in sunny South Florida.

To this day I have never met Rene, Jannie or Dave... it is a true internet partnership! All of this could not be possible if each of us did not have the passion and drive to create something special for trombone players around the world.

Our plan offers' the following to trombone players' worldwide:
  • Every conceivable trombone product under one roof including just about every brand name trombone, mouthpiece, gig bag, accessory, as well as supplemental educational products such as, method books, sheet music, music minus one, DVDs, CDs, digital downloads and much more shipped worldwide
  • The largest trombone database accesable and editable by all trombonists worldwide
  • Extensive content, including biographies, news, events, releases, profiles and industry links
  • Trombone specific online streaming from Groove Bone Radio, hosted by Dave Dickey
  • The ability to purchase published cds, methods, compositions and arrangements from world renown trombone artists of all genres
  • Become aware of up and coming trombone artists
  • Search our unique databases for universities, teachers and clinics worldwide

A special thank you to trombonist, composer & arranger Michael Davis, who met with me at an internet coffee shop in New York City at the end of May 2002. We had e mailed each other a few times and spoke once prior to meeting... that's it! I flew from Montreal that morning to meet with Michael to discuss my ideas and preview the unpublished site to him.

He gave me allot of input and was very down to earth. As great a musician Michael is, he is a superb businessman who thinks outside the box. Michael is way ahead in the online marketing arena and has developed allot of great products for trombone players. We are very happy to have him as a featured artist!

We welcome you to Trombonesonline.com and look forward to being part of your future!
