Biography

Cindy Miller is from the Rochester, New York area. She received her masters degree in music from the Eastman School of Music.

Her professional engagements have ranged from intimate clubs to large stadium/concert performances, and as guest soloist with symphony orchestras.

Cindy has performed with noted entertainers such as Julius LaRosa and Stars from the Lawrence Welk Show and appears regularly with the Gap Mangione Big Band. Guest appearances include concerts with the Benny Goodman Tribute Band, the Utica Symphony Orchestra, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Central New York Jazz Ensemble, and Michael Lasser, host of PBS radio’s nationally syndicated Fascinatin’ Rhythm.

Cindy performed for actress Meryl Streep when Ms. Streep received the George Eastman Award for Distinguished Contribution to the Art of Film, appeared at the New York State Fair Celebration 2000 and was guest soloist at the 2004 International Marine Tattoo. New York City appearances include The Blue Note with Gap and Chuck Mangione, and Danny’s Skylight Room with her own cabaret act.

Love You Madly, her CD of standards recorded with some of finest jazz musicians in the country, has recently been released, as well as her own song Land That We Love, which she was asked to sing for General Tommy Franks.

Cindy has received rave reviews for her own musical cabaret/dinner theatre shows Here’s To The Ladies, You Ain’t Heard Nothin’ Yet! and her new show I Got The Music In Me, which was premiered at the Downstairs Cabaret Theatre in September 2004.

Other musical accomplishments include composing a full range of songs from easy listening to pop and country. Musical arrangements include small group and big band charts as well as choral octavos. Cindy has recorded numerous industrial videos, commercials, demos, voice-overs, and cast recordings including Robert Collister’s musical Vladimir, Robert Isgro’s An American Christmas, a music education textbook series for GIA Publications, Gap Mangione’s Big Band recordings Planet Gap, Stolen Moments and Family Holidays. Land That We Love has been recorded with the Mansfield University Concert Wind Ensemble on their CD American Portraits.

Possessing a flair for impersonation, Cindy’s acting and singing impressions and her ability to improvise and scat sing delight audiences of every age. She arranges her own material and comes ready with charts for all of her performances.

Cindy has performed in: The Sound Of Music, Patience, Lucia Di Lammermoor, Golf According To Wodehouse, My Fair Lady, Camelot, Die Fledermaus, and Dialogue of the Carmelites.

In her experience as a music educator Cindy has been both musical and artistic director for Cinderella, Bye Bye Birdie, The Sound of Music, Anything Goes, 42nd Street, Life With Father, The Diary Of Anne Frank, Brigadoon, Mame, Golf According To Wodehouse, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, Grease, Oklahoma!, and The Music Man.
