Cody Garrett
I have studied classical piano and percussion for 15 years, and began to play contemporary styles (Jazz, Latin, Funk, Progressive Metal) 8 years ago. I studied classical music theory, composition and piano performance at the University of Houston (TX) for 3 years and am now a scholarship recipient at Berklee College of Music in Boston. I am currently studying piano privately with John Arcaro and Afro-Caribbean percussion with Eggie Castrillo. I have also had the great honor of studying with Leo Blanco, Dave Limina, Dennis Montgomery III, Ron Mahdi, Matt Jensen, Steve Rochinski, and Tony Lada.
I plan to earn a professional diploma in piano/keyboard performance. Although I have studied classical piano for most of my life, I primarily perform modern jazz, funk, fusion, and contemporary Christian music.
