Nandita Dias

Nandita began her vocal training with Indian classical singing and went on to train in western classical music. She found her natural talent and artistic passion in jazz. Today she sings in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Indian languages. This dynamic young woman has been performing since the tender age of ten. She is also a song-writer and has a variety of original material.

Nandita juggles a very busy schedule. She is completing a double major in English and Spanish and a minor in French at the University of Toronto. She also teaches grade twelve English and is the President of OLAS (The Organization of Latin American Students at U of T).

Nandita is always eager to share her talent with an audience. She has dazzled audiences in Canada, the United States, India, Dubai and Costa Rica. Nandita has appeared at a variety of venues such as the Harbourfront, Roy Thompson Hall, Blue Mountain, The University of Toronto, The University of Sherbrooke, Oasis Banquet Hall, Pepper’s Lounge, Casa do Churassco, Jazz Café (Costa Rica), Starters and More (Bombay), Jazz by the Bay (Bombay), Lennox Lounge (Harlem), and Biddles Jazz Club (Montreal). She has also participated in number of charity and cultural endeavours.

Nandita is talented, hardworking and confident. She has excellent stage presence and thoroughly enjoys sharing her passion for music with others. She combines her training in various vocal traditions with her flair for languages to create her own unique form of vocal expression.
