After All These Years (Paintbrush Records & Publishing) by Kathy Yolanda Rice
“The Bayou Baby is a song I wrote after a trip to the French Quarter in New Orleans back in the late 90’s. The atmosphere around Jackson Square inspired the lyrics. This song is melancholy and conjures up images of a troubled life. It’s an ode to all those who’ve ever felt like they were fish out of water. I got the bass line first, just messing around with the Korg M1 synthesizer that my nephew had given me. They don’t make them anymore, but I still have it! The Bayou Baby was the first song I wrote on the M1.”~ Kathy Yolanda Rice
