“Speak To Us Of Love” by Nat Birchall
From
World Without Form (Sound Soul And Spirit) by Nat Birchall
Editor's Comments
Speak to us of love from Nat Birchall's album World without form (http://musicians.allaboutjazz.com/musician.php?id=25971) is a song without words. Accomplished musicianship (despite their suggestions they were conscious when they performed this music), equal measures of confusion, sweetness and meditation, sums love up beautifully.
About
Nat Birchall's fifth album, World Without Form, is a continuation of the music he has been developing for the past few years, as he attempts to compose and play in a way so that the results are a pure representation of the origin of the sound/idea, unencumbered by conscious thought or action. For Birchall then a 'world without form' is the starting point, from which the artists begin their creations. "Speak To Us Of Love" takes it’s name from a phrase from Khalil Gibran's 'The Prophet' and is inspired by Birchall’s belief that musicians, as well as practitioners of other arts, should strive to produce beauty in their works. Personnel: Nat Birchall: soprano saxophone, tenor saxophone, tambourines, shakers, bells; Adam Fairhall: piano; Corey Mwamba: vibes, bells, shakers; Nick Blacka: bass; Paul Hession: drums; Andy Hay: drums, congas, bells, shakers.
