Wow, this is pretty good. Probably 85%-90% of the tracks I feature in the AAJ dotd are ones I send out invitations for or are returning artists with new recordings that I'd invited previously. But every now and then, I get an unsolicited dotd submission that makes me sit up. This track is one such example. Really a splendid tune... evocative, with just the right amount of heat. Jackson has a nice sound on alto sax, and I've long been of the opinion that Sean Wayland should be on the radar of jazz fans. Recommended.
