“Part III” by Josh Maxey
From
The Language of Sound and Spirit (Self Produced) by Josh Maxey
Editor's Comments
Exciting mix of modern jazz and classic soul bop from the sixties. For the last year, Maxey has been putting out one intriguing recording after the other. And fun, let's not forget to mention that this is very fun music. Thrilling upbeat music to get your day started right. Jazz from NYC.
About
Heavily influenced by the classic Coltrane Quartet and Jimmy Page's acoustic guitar playing in altered tunings, Language... is a suite of music combing traditional jazz forms with drone sounds.
Produced by jazz guitar legend Rodney Jones, featuring Brian Charette (organ), Chase Baird (saxophones), Jeremy Noller (drums), Michael Cioffero (acoustic guitar & singing bowls), David Nicholson (acoustic guitar & singing bowls), Jessica Martinez Maxey (NA Flute) and
David Parnell (Vocals). The song "Part III" is the band in a traditional instrumentation, adding only the Tibetan singing bowls to open up the sound.
