Amazing to me how a simple tune can be so evocative. This is nice straight-ahead jazz, peaceful yet with a bounce, pretty but with substance. Just real good stuff here. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of this album. When a jazz vet put out a debut album later in his career, you can almost take it to the bank that it's gonna be good. Jazz from the Pacific Northwest scene.

About
The Seattle bassist has been an unassuming yet vital figure on the Northwest jazz scene for almost three decades. He has lent his talents to countless recordings and live performances. With The Road Home, Anderson makes his debut as a solo artist and composer. Supported by longtime collaborators, pianist Darin Clendenin and drummer Mark Ivester, Anderson has crafted a thoughtful collection of original music that reflects his influences and pays homage to his mentors.
