“Fancy Tango” by Miho Wada
Naming her style Japanese Punk Jazz, Miho finds a way to make jazz flute sound both romantic and badass. Having spent time in Cuba learning and playing, on "Fancy Tango" she displays both her love and respect of Cuban music, as well as the enchanting development of her own original sound. Very recommended. Jazz from the Auckland, New Zealand scene.
Personnel: Miho Wada - flute, Pascal Roggen - violin, James Donaldson - cello, Takumi Motokawa - piano, Andrew Rudolph - classical guitar, Leo Corso - bass guitar, and Alistair Deverick - drums.
