“Tunnel Mountain” by TunnelSix
Beautiful song. Does a fantastic job building tension, leaping off a cliff, and then fluttering down to the ground below. It appeals to me much in the same way as Brian Blade's Season of Changes and some of the Omer Avital/various Cohens albums.
Comprised of musicians from all corners of North America, Tunnel Six was formed when its members were attending the 2009 International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music at the Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada. Touring across the U.S. and Canada in 2010 solidified the band's approach to the eclectic mix of original compositions, creating a loose yet very cohesive group aesthetic.
