“What Is This Thing Called Love?” by Luther Thomas & Rune Larsen
From
Busking in Christiania (Ayler Records) by Luther Thomas & Rune Larsen
About
"Right in the middle of Copenhagen and the well known, loved and notorious, quarter of Christiania, Luther Thomas is playing alto saxophone in the tradition of Charlie Parker together with his Norwegian friend Rune Larsen who is playing accordion.
Outdoor wind, be-bop standards, chat with the audience, ambulance supporting the A Train, dogs barking, laughter, etc. You just name it!
Why should we release this on Ayler Records?
Maybe some of you also will become charmed by the inconceivable music performance which just happened to be recorded. For sure without any thought of being released on any kind of media. It just fits into our policy: "Live Music with Spirit" with all its mistakes and disturbances. This time it is the Spirit of Joy we hope some of you will find happiness in listen to. For sure it's very Live "
Recorded in Christiania, Copenhagen, Denmark in summer 2001.
