Le Passant (The Wanderer) (Jazz From Rant) by Michel Lambert

About
Montreal-based drummer/composer Michel Lambert's latest release, Le Passant (Jazz From Rant), which translates to "The Wanderer." This introduces his five-movement work of the same name. It features saxophonist Ellery Eskelin, violinist Malcolm Goldstein and bassist Dominic Duval improvising with Lambert and a 10-piece orchestra that includes musicians from the Montreal Symphony Orchestra (MSO), the Societ de Musique Contemporaine du Qubec (SMCQ)and the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne (NEM). "Recalling the Wanderer" is one of seven additional free improvisations inspired by the orchestral score and Lambert's original artwork.
