Razdaz is a label that is constantly evolving and focusing on artist development.
Razdaz has proudly established itself as a key independent label, bringing young artistic talent to the forefront of the music industry with the enthusiastic help of its close partners.
Razdaz Recordz was founded in New York City during 2002 by Internationally Acclaimed Bassist, Composer and Band leader Avishai Cohen with his Manager Ray Jefford.
Razdaz released its debut in September 2003 with “LYLA” ( Avishai Cohen ) an extraordinary 11-song collection that encompasses a range of styles and showcases Cohen’s multifaceted musical prowess.
“I’ve always been interested in several genres of music, including jazz, rock, pop, Latin and funk,” says Cohen. “ I’m always packed with ideas. I decided to start my own label because I’m involved in so many different projects.”
“As one immersed in constant creation and surrounded by many young artsits it was inevitable to establish my own record label to serve and an outlet for all of my artistic passions and endeavors.” Avishai Cohen 2003.
Cohen wants Razdaz to record and produce younger musicians who he’s enthusiastic about, but for starters the label gives him an outlet to creatively express the diversity of his musical vision.
Today Razdaz Recordz established worldwide distribution through it’s many collective partners to ensure the music is out there, in many mediums at all times.
To date the label has produced five releases including a brand new band named HEERNT, “a slick burnin' electrofunk Trio” – Time Out New York To the forefront of the music industry, and gained HEERNT's reputation as one of the most exciting new bands on the scene, breaking musical boundaries in every sense, and harvesting their ‘Experimental Garage Jazz.’ Locked In A Basement, the band’s debut record on RazDaz, was released in June 2006 and is available worldwide.
In 2008 the label has new plans to release four new projects and bring to the forefront fresh exciting talent and original music from Sam Barsh and The Jimmy Greene Group.
