Jim Santella has been contributing CD reviews, concert reviews and DVD reviews to AAJ since 1997. His work has also appeared in Southland Blues, The L.A. Jazz Scene, and Cadence Magazine.
I love jazz. Always have. I grew up with the family's radio playing Ella, Nat King Cole and Satch. Later, I studied (classical) music and taught and demonstrated all instruments for quite a few years. Listening and sharing with my students was quite important to me. Eventually, my lifestyle changed and listening became even more important. Sharing my views has remained integral to my daily life.
