A Jamaican features writer, reviewer and passionate jazz advocate
Although jazz was always part of my household growing up, I didn't
really get into it until my early 20s, when lots of late night shifts
on a lonely job got me acquainted with the likes of Sonny Rollins,
Miles, Oscar Peterson and other bop/post-bop giants as well as the
then emerging new lions and the smooth/fusion players.
I am presently a writer on the performing arts (including weekly jazz
feature) for leading daily newspaper in Kingston, Jamaica where I
live, and also do weekly jazz DJ duties at a local lounge.
